Rhode Island Needs Its Office of the Child Advocate

For years one of Rhode Island's hidden gifts has been: its Office of the Child Advocate, http://www.child-advocate.ri.gov/index.php

Their website explains their mission far better than I can.

RI Senators Walaska and Bates have introduced a Bill S-2529 to eliminate the Office of the Child Advocate.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a Hearing on March 11, 2008 at the State House in Room 313, at the Rise of the Senate.

The site for RI's General Assembly is:

Update 3/10/08: I received notice that the bill has been Withdrawn as of late last week!
Thanks to all for attending to this!
