Teabagging the Independent Man

Yes, those rumors you've heard are true -- conservatives are planning to teabag the Statehouse on Wednesday, April 15. The teabagging is due to take place between three and six in the afternoon, when conservative protestors will put their mouths where their money is and teabag state legislators, passers-by, and if possible the entire city of Providence.

Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin worries that "ACORN may try to send in ringers and saboteurs to usurp the anti-tax, anti-reckless spending, anti-bailout message." We certainly wouldn't want anyone to think that Michelle Malkin was being paranoid, so we'd better do what she says and send in some ringers and saboteurs. If you'd like to usurp the message at the Statehouse on Wednesday afternoon, dress warmly: forecast calls for partly cloudy skies and temps in the mid-50s. To let the teabaggers know that you are, in fact, a ringer and/or saboteur from ACORN, be sure to decorate yourself with some acorns. If you're carrying a sign, decorate it with some acorn drawings. A few suggested sign ideas are TEABAG A LIBERAL TODAY, TEABAG THEM BEFORE THEY TEABAG YOU, and BREATHE THROUGH YOUR NOSE (always useful advice when teabagging).

The teabaggers have been making a lot of noise about how if they don't get any media coverage that just proves that the media has a liberal bias, so there's sure to be one or two news cameras there. Try to look your best, and avoid throwing acorns at the teabaggers, because that's probably illegal.

UPDATE: Some more sign ideas -- TEABAGGING IN DEFENSE OF LIBERTY IS NO VICE, ASK NOT WHETHER YOUR COUNTRY CAN TEABAG YOU, THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO TEABAG IS TEABAGGING ITSELF. Also, every protest needs a good chant. I suggest "Read my hips, no new taxes".

??? Providence "Peace Service" = "Unity with Israel" ???

http://www.projo.com/ri/providence/content/middle_east_peace_vigil_01-03-09_CFCR3RA_v9.3ac8569.html

Below is the text of the article.

PROVIDENCE — Temple Emanu-El will host a special community service tomorrow at 7 p.m. to show support for peace in the Middle East, with prayers for an end to the terrorism that has been directed at the people of Israel but which has caused innocent Palestinians to suffer as well.

“Our purpose is to show unity with Israel,” said Marty Cooper, community relations director of the Jewish Federation of Rhode Island. “With all the bombing going on, we wish for peace and pray for peace. Nobody wants what is going on right now. The only people who do are the terrorists whose only mission is the destruction of Israel.”

Nadav Tamir, Israel’s consul general for New England, will be one of the speakers at the event, along with Providence Mayor David N. Cicilline; Rabbi Peter Stein, of Temple Sinai in Cranston, president of the Rhode Island Board of Rabbis; the Rev. Donald A. Anderson, executive minister of the Rhode Island State Council of Churches; and Temple Emanu-El’s Rabbi Wayne Franklin.

The service is open to the public.

— Richard C. Dujardin

My prayers are for everyone in the Middle East.
Was no one from the Palestinian community invited to speak? No one from any other faith community?

Not all Israelis are pleased with their government's attacks.

General JC Christian Illustrates the Palin Branches of Government

Branches of Government by Sarah Palin

I'm very happy with my debate performance. John seemed to like it too. He didn't call me a "cunt" once tonight.

But a lot of people are asking me about that government branch thing. It seems complicated, so I sent Bristol over the Vice President Cheney's office and the came up with this super-neat diagram. The only thing it's missing is Jesus, but I gave it a good rebuking so it's OK.

Wall Street gets drunk, we get the hangover.

And a bright "good morning" to all!

I have been puzzling over the claim by Bushco apparatchik Henry Paulson that not making a quick, uninformed decision about the $750,000,000,000 welfare program for the downtrodden CEO's of Wall Street.

See, I don't got me no degree in economics or finance or nuttin, so I can't begin to see how badly we're really being fucked if this thing goes through. What I can do is google and I'm half decent with numbers, so....

$1M in "Benjamins" = the following:

Total area: 103.389471 square meters

Total weight: According to the U.S. Treasury, "In $100 bills, the weight
of $1million is about 22 pounds." [that's 10 kg.]

Total height: Stacked singly, 48.82 inches high.

Total length: Laid end to end, 5083.333... feet long.

So, here are the figures for Bushco's Golden Airborne Division bailout.

Total area: 77,542,103.25 square meters or 29.939173442746206 square miles
(for purposes of comparison, Manhattan's total land area is
22.96 sq mi.)

Total weight: 7,500 metric tons or, 8267.334... Tons-short

Total height: Stacked singly, 577.888... miles high.

Total length: Laid end to end, 722,064.346... miles long

More fun facts: If we go for this Ponzi scheme, and take out a
"home impoverishment loan" we can look at the following
schedule.

Loan amount: $ 750,000,000,000.00
Loan term : 30 Years
Interest rate: 5.750% (We ARE well qualified buyers)
Monthly Payment: $ 4,376,796,423.33 a month

Totals--Principal: $ 750,000,000,000.00
Interest: $ 825,646,712,398.80

Grand Total: $ 1,575,646,712,398.80 (you can forget
about the .80; just round it down.)

Dividing this figure by 150,000,000 taxpayers (an arbitrary number; I just plucked it out of the air, unlike Mr. Paulson) I come up with a per capita number of, let's see $ 10,504.31 or about $29.18 per month. Why, it's just like a "Christmas Club savings account. The CEO's get to open their gifts for the next 30 years, we get the bill! And this will secure my future? how?

The good news for me is that there's little or no chance I'll be paying for the whole term of the note--I'm 58.

I don't know about you folks, but I don't want to get asked over for dinner and then get stuck with paying for the house.
