Please, Providence City Council: Do Not Cut the Providence Community Library Budget

grrrr....

I am frustrated with blogger. Trying to upload a simple saved image, and no......

grrrr....

Whether or not you live in Providence or Rhode Island, please contact local officials and let them how much you value libraries.

I know that visitors, tourists, business people use the libraries.

We have not recovered from cuts made years ago.

We have no libraries open on Sundays. Many open only one morning a week.

Libraries are vital. Libraries are like hospitals.

On a lighter note: hidden in one of my boxes, I have my Niquinohomo library card which has a tiny black and white photo of me and my Nicaraguan address....

I treasure it.

In these tough economic times, libraries are more crucial than ever- they are a resource for job seekers, people who cannot afford expensive entertainment, and people who cannot afford expensive textbooks. Municipalities should be expanding library services, rather than cutting back.
