Huckleberry Finn Project

I hope you can see this little video which I found . I have no idea where these kids go to school or what grade they received and it seems that about 16 or 17 people viewed this before me.

When I was in high school, the internet did not exist, much less youtube, and mostly I am grateful for that.

I was a huge fan of Mark Twain, but am less so today. When my son was assigned Tom Sawyer last year, I was pleased.

Learning about a new edition of Huckleberry Finn without the n-word
makes me want to seek out all of my English and History teachers (there's quite a bunch) and ask their opinions.

What would Rhett Jones think ?
I think regardless of his opinion of the new volume, he would have had compassion for this editor, Alan Gribben, who is being vilified by many. This review, which quotes, Rhett, makes me want to read this anthology.

I would love to know Barack and Michelle Obama's opinions, and I would not assume they have only one position.

Maybe it will make it easier to study the book in classes. The original version is still in print, for students who want to go deeper.
The whole controversy is a teachable moment.
It's progress that we consider this word so obscene.
